Toby Ellis

Founder of Deadly Rugby
Funding Stream: First Nations People

Toby hails from the beautiful communities of Arnhem Land in a town called Nhulunbuy, and later Kakadu National Park in Jabiru. It was in these Northern Territory locations that Toby spent his childhood playing Rugby.

Toby founded Deadly Rugby to provide Indigenous kids the opportunity to experience the love of playing Rugby Union he had growing up. Deadly Rugby links Indigenous communities with local rugby clubs and city schools to create co-designed rugby camps. Through the SPARK program, Toby aims to co-design rugby camps that further empower and uplifts Indigenous and non-indigenous youths through sport and connection. Toby is a board member of the Northern Territory Rugby Union, where he actively contributes to the development and promotion of rugby in the region.
